Am I the only one that finds the phrase “that’s my girl!” to be woefully condescending?
For one, it’s like “yeah female empowerment, now with extra patronising!” as if the fact you did something and happen to be female is something that needs congratulating.
And the “my girl” thing.
I’m nobody’s girl, not even a girl. Thank you for assuming both my gender and my relationship with you.
I’m someones, not yours.
